Play food has never been sweeter! These amigurumi ice cream cones are easy to make and fun to play with or display. Choose your favorite flavor and crochet your very own soft serve ice cream cone! Or, crochet all three and have your own kawaii ice cream shoppe!! These amigurumi ice cream cones work up quickly and easily, and they are cute to boot! The shape looks like a real soft serve “swirly” ice cream, and the addition of safety eyes and a cute little face makes this the perfect play food toy for summer!

Kawaii Soft Serve Ice Cream Cone

You’ll notice that the yarn that this pattern calls for is once again Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton – I became a big fan of this yarn when designing my Watermelon Sun Hat pattern, and it’s now one of my favorite yarns of the summer! The colorway “Ecru” is perfect for an ice cream cone (find it on Amazon HERE), and I couldn’t have gotten better yarns for Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry ice cream than White (on Amazon HERE), Cafe Au Lait (on Amazon HERE), and Pink (on Amazon HERE)!

Fun fact: I went back on forth on whether or not I should make the cone a “cup” style cone or “waffle cone” style cone, but I’m really happy with the way the cup style cone turned out! Maybe next summer, I’ll try a waffle cone style ice cream.

Any suggestion on possible making a chocolate and vanilla twist ice cream on top? These are so cute but I thought of making a twist cone but figuring out the pattern is boggling my mind 🙂

Hi Laura! That’s a great question! I might try doing half the stitches of each round of the top in brown, and the other half in white. You’d have to change colors throughout each round so I’d recommend not cutting off your yarn but just carrying it so you could switch colors throughout! Hope that makes sense! Maybe I’ll try this out and see if I can post a pattern mod about it! Thanks so much! ~ Melissa
