Turn right side out, ch 3.
Body of hat
Rnd 1 – Tr 72 sts evenly across cuff cuff (it helps to tr 1 in each row of sc rib below, but add an extra tr about every 7-10 sts). Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (72 tr)
Rnd 2 – Ch 3, tr in each st around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (72 tr)

Attach white around a dc post, ch 1 (first photo below). Sl st 2 into parts of the dc post (second photo below). Sl st 3 into parts of dc post on row above (third photo). Fasten off, pull to inside and tie off or weave ends.
Rep throughout hat, making seeds about 2 dc apart. (Fourth photo below shows finished Seeds.)
Closing the hat
Fold body of hat together and sc two sides together (first photo below). Fold in the other direction, closing two large gaps left after first side has been closed (second photo below).
Close the remaining gaps even further by repeating the above two steps (third, fourth and fifth photos below). Do not fasten off.
Stem
Ch 6. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, and in each st across (first photo below). Join with sl st to any st on body of Hat where it is cinched together. (5 sc)
