Sunflower Mermaid Blanket – Crochet Pattern
Pin it for later!
Why choose between your love of sunflowers and mermaids when you can have BOTH in one cozy, easy crochet pattern?! That’s right, you can become the loveliest of floral land mermaids with this easy to make blanket! The Sunflower Mermaid Blanket is a new twist on Mermaid Tail or Fin Blankets – the colors are both earthy and oceanic, and the classic fin and shape are accented by a field of tiny crocheted sunflowers. This is a Teen / Adult size, but no worries – a Kids’ Size is coming soon! The sizing for this pattern is also adjustable. Whether you’re a beginner crocheter or an established veteran of the fiber arts, this pattern is sure to please!
Sunflower Mermaid Blanket
The inspiration behind this blanket is simple – I’m crazy for sunflowers and mermaids!! So many of my designs – such as my Sunflower Afghan, Sunflower Placemats, Sunflower Coasters, Mermaid Slouchy Hat, Mermaid Hand Sanitizer Cozy, and Mermaid Triangle Scarf – involve these two pretty motifs. So I decided to combine the two to make a magical new twist on the concept of a mermaid tail blanket! I’m so happy with the results!
The bulky yarn I used produced a great result in this mermaid fin blanket! Lion Brand Hometown USA is thick enough to make this project go very quickly, has a lovely sheen, and comes in some gorgeous colors! For this pattern, I used Oklahoma Green and Miami Seafoam, which you can find on Amazon:
