Crochet Hook Kit Review: BeCraftee Hooks & Accessories

I’m really excited to share some news with you about BeCraftee crochet hooks! I had the opportunity recently to use and explore one of these sets, and I want to tell you all about why I’m so pleased with the kit.

- Folding scissors – I love the way these scissors fold up for easy and convenient carrying inside the case!
- 6 pcs Sewing needles – these plastic yarn needles are brightly colored, which helps me not to lose them as much compared to metal ones!
- 10 pcs Locking stitch markers – again, brightly colored for good visibility on your project, and I find it’s helpful in not losing them!
- Row counter – so easy and incredibly beneficial to me for counting rows and rounds on my project without losing track.
- Measuring tape – an essential in any crafter’s kit, I love that a measuring tape is included for checking gauge, the size of the project, etc.
- 2 pcs stitch holders – these can be used for holding specific stitches on a project, but I find that my best use for them is to use them to hold my current stitch on a work-in-progress if I have to put it down while working. That can be really handy in helping to prevent projects from unraveling!
- Gauge measure ruler – this is so handy; it’s used with crochet hooks to check the gauge, and see how many stitches per inch will be made with a given crochet hook. What a great idea!
If you are looking for comfortable hooks in a sturdy travel case, as well as the convenience of not having to pack anything else but yarn, then I think you’ll like what I have to say! The reason I love my BeCraftee crochet hook kit depends on a few key factors: durability, quality, functionality, comfort, and convenience.
Durability/Quality
This kit is made to last! The case itself has a hard shell, so you don’t have to worry about it getting squashed in your bag. The accessories are contained in a small bag that can be attached to the inside of the case for safe keeping and travel. The hooks have smooth tips and a cushioned grip, and feel very sturdy in my hand! Having high quality hooks is a very necessary investment, in my opinion, whether you’re a beginner or experienced crocheter.
Functionality
The hooks themselves are also made to be anti-slip and anti-snag, which is so helpful when working on any project! Anti-slip features are especially handy for beginners, but even veteran crocheters can appreciate not having to worry about slipping or snagging. I have used the hooks on some projects and noticed right away the difference that the smooth tips of the hooks make as I’m pulling through stitches! If you enjoy working on projects while watching TV or interacting with others, this can help reduce the need to constantly check your projects for snagging on the ply of your yarn!
Comfort
One of the main reasons I love this kit is the comfort it offers while crocheting! The ergonomic handles make them very easy and comfortable to hold. I also love that the ergonomic portion of the hook is convenient whether one holds the hook in the “pencil” grip or the “knife” grip. I have a solid grip on the hooks while using them, and due to the shaping of the handles, my hands aren’t tightly curled as much as they are when using regular hooks. I think this could be helpful when it comes to cramps and stiffness while crocheting! It could also be beneficial for new crocheters to have an ergonomic handle that makes the area you’re holding a bit larger and easier to grip. Similarly, if you love to crochet for a while and/or make large projects like blankets, having a comfortable handle is helpful!
Convenience
It is so nice to have everything I need in one handy little kit! I love working on multiple projects at once, so having a convenient kit that includes so many different sized hooks, scissors, stitch markers, etc. ensures that I always have what I need. This way, I can focus on my yarn and my designs, instead of whether or not I have the right supplies with me! The kit covers all the basics since it has hooks ranging from size 2.25 mm to 6 mm. Including scissors, stitch markers and a measuring tape provides added convenience (by the way, I LOVE the way the scissors fold up for storage!). There were even some accessories I didn’t know I needed so badly. The row counter is an awesome idea and I would have never thought to invest in one of these, but it makes my life so much easier not to have to constantly stop and re-count every row or round of my project! The fact that I can count my rows, weave in my ends, measure my gauge, etc. without having to go beyond this kit makes it an essential for me.
