Fall & Halloween Face Masks – Crochet Pattern
Pin it for later!
As 2020 continues, it looks like face masks will become a part of daily life more and more as the weather beings cooling down. And if they’re going to be around for a while, why not have some fun with them? These fabric-lined fall and Halloween themed face masks offer not only a lightweight covering for your face, but also a spectacularly spooky fashion statement! Learn how to make masks that feature fall-tastic decorations like falling leaves, candy corn coloring, or bold Halloween stripes with a jack-o-lantern applique. These are fun, fast, DIY masks that are perfect for kids to wear at school, adults to wear at work, etc.!
Fall & Halloween Face Masks
You might remember my Assorted Face Masks Pattern from this summer – it showed how to make all kinds of masks, from Strawberry to Pizza to Cupcake! I wanted to design something in the same fun and creative spirit, with an autumn twist. I knew candy corn colors had to fit in somewhere, since my Candy Corn Witch Hat has become so popular! I also thought a general fall aesthetic might be a good idea for those who only celebrate Harvest or just want a mask that they can wear all the way through to December without stopping after Halloween. And the striped version definitely took some inspiration from my Wicked Stripes Witch Hat pattern! I couldn’t resist topping it off with the happy little pumpkin!
The yarn used for these masks is light (weight category “3”) yarn, so that the masks have a lightweight feel and aren’t too warm. I absolutely fell in love with some yarn released by a favorite crochet blogger of mine, The Hook Nook, and I highly recommend it for these masks! It’s light with a crisp texture and slight stretch, and is just a dream to work with! And since the Anne Geddes yarn that is called for in some parts of the pattern is discontinued, THN yarn would be the perfect substitute! I used “Foggy Morning” (on Amazon HERE) for the Falling Leaves mask, “Tattoo Ink” (on Amazon HERE) for the Striped mask, and “Minimalist” (on Amazon HERE) for the Candy Corn mask.
This pattern references links to other patterns of mine in order to complete each mask – if you’re looking for a PDF copy of the pattern that contains all the instructions in one place, you can purchase it in my shop HERE!
