Fall Maple Leaf – Crochet Pattern
Pin it for later!
Fall is almost here, which means it’s time for all that autumn aesthetic we know and love – including falling leaves! Maple leaves, in particular, are so gorgeous in the fall in their blazing colors. How about making some “permanent” crochet maple leaves this fall? Use them as appliques, garland / bunting in your home decor, or just make a whole bunch to decorate centerpieces throughout your home for the “falling leaves” effect! They’re quick and easy to make, and don’t use much yarn, which also makes this fun pattern a great stash-buster!
Fall Maple Leaf
I’ve been wanting to try designing a fall hallmark like maple leaves for a while now. Aside from pumpkins, they’re one of the most recognizable symbols of fall that nature has to offer! They also make great decor all season long – no need to put them away until the winter / holiday decor starts going up! These crocheted maple leaves are incredibly easy to make and only use a few stitches. Plus, they look so realistic! They even have that authentic curling at the edges that real maple leaves get when they’re extra crispy – but if you’re sewing them down to something, they can be pressed flat easily, too! They’re great to use as appliques for apparel, tote bags, backpacks, treat bags, and more. Or, string them together and make cute fall garland for any room in the house! I also love the idea of just leaving a few around a fall centerpiece on the dining room table. So pretty, colorful, and “rustic chic”! Go ahead and get creative with how you use these pretty leaves!
To get that maple leaf color, I used an old favorite of mine – Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in a fall-tastic color called Rust. Does this color look familiar? That’s because I used it in my Farm Fresh Fall Blanket (pattern HERE) last year! The other orange-toned leaf is made using the same brand, but in the colorway Tangerine Mist, which unfortunately is discontinued. Since the red leaf pictured here was made using an unknown remnant of my stash, I suggest the colorway Brick as a great substitute! You can find Rust on Amazon HERE, and Brick on Amazon HERE!
