It’s almost Valentine’s season, and that means there are cute red, white and pink stuffed animals just about everywhere! But how about hand making a little crocheted stuffed animal for your loved ones this year? I introduce to you Puppy Love, the world’s cutest amigurumi Valentine’s dog! This cutie is easy, fast, and fun to make, and makes a great gift! How cute would it be to make a pair of these pups to gift to your favorite couple? The possibilities are endless!

You may remember that I love making Valentine’s Day themed dogs from my Amigurumi Love Pugs that took center stage during the Valentine’s season last year! I had so much fun making them, and my fellow crocheters seemed really excited to try the pattern! Around that time, I had also designed a regular amigurumi dog. When I was trying to brainstorm ideas for a Valentine’s pattern this year, I thought, what if I made that little dog all red and pink for the most romantic day of the year? And so, Puppy Love was born!

Pin it for later!

In addition to all the sweet red and pink accents on this little pup, I really love how the face came out using large safety eyes and a plastic animal nose. I usually don’t use safety eyes quite this large, but the result was wide-eyed and adorable! Also, this was my first time using a plastic animal nose. They work just like safety eyes…only they’re shaped like a nose, as one would guess! You can find some great safety eyes in the same 15 mm size I used on Amazon HERE, and some great animal noses are also available on Amazon HERE!

So no matter what your crafting needs are this Valentine’s Day – crocheting for your sweetheart, a beloved friend, some family members, or a newlywed couple – this Puppy Love pattern is sure to be a hit as a gift! Or, make a bunch and use them to decorate in the cutest way possible this Valentine’s Day! This little canine cutie is very versatile!

Update: You can now make a little Valentine for Puppy Love: meet Smitten Kitten, an adorable Valentine’s Day cat! Find the pattern for Smitten Kitten HERE!
